Research carried out by Asthma UK suggests that up to 86% of children have been without their own inhaler because
it was lost, forgotten, broken or had run out. Before legislation changed in 2014 it was illegal for schools to have a
spare emergency inhaler to use in the event of a potentially life-threatening asthma attack, thanks to legislative
changes schools are able to now hold spare emergency inhalers. It is Breathe for Cameron’s mission is to ensure
every child in Yorkshire and the Humber has emergency inhalers and spacers available for them at school.
The inhalers that we have provided to the 93 primary and secondary schools in Kingston upon Hull are been used
more importantly they potentially have saved a life and most certainly stopped a potential hospital admission
We cannot continue to support schools with out your help, we feel we have a real opportunity to prevent deaths
caused by this underestimated condition. With your support we will change the face of asthma together.
